Polo mogul John Goodman has been granted a new trial by a Palm Beach County judge and now his lawyers have asked him to be released from house arrest.

One of Goodman's attorneys filed the motion Tuesday. The motion asks Palm Beach County Circuit Judge, Jeffrey Colbath to remove Goodman from house arrest and have his ankle monitor removed. Prosecutors have asked Colbath to keep Goodman on house arrest.

The Sun Sentinel reports that Goodman is also asking for the judge to reinstate his pretrial bail conditions.  Those terms include $100,000 bail, freedom to travel in the U.S. with prior notice, random drug testing, reporting to the court system by telephone once a week and no driving.
Goodman was found guilty of DUI manslaughter last March in the death of 23-year-old Scott Wilson. Wilson drowned in a canal after Goodman smashed his Bentley convertible into Wilson’s Hyundai at the intersection of 120th Avenue and Lake Worth Road in Wellington.
