Boil water notice lifted for Tamarac residents

Notice no longer in effect for residents west of SR 7/US 441 in Tamarac

TAMARAC, Fla. – A precautionary boil water notice has been lifted for businesses and residents west of State Road 7/U.S. 441 in Tamarac.

The city said testing conducted Friday on one of the untreated ground wells in the City of Tamarac's public water system detected E. coli bacteria.

Authorities said the bacteria were found in only one well, which was shut down.

On Sunday, the city said the boil water notice was lifted, saying that multiple tests showed that no bacteria were found in samples from the water distribution system.
