BSO says thieves break into cars at Rustic Inn in Dania Beach

Detectives say same men involved in five similar burglaries since Nov. 2013

DANIA BEACH, Fla. ā€“ Broward Sheriff's Office detectives are searching for serial burglars who have their sights set on travelers.

The unidentified men have stolen luggage and valuables from parked cars five times in the last two months from the same Dania Beach restaurant.

Just after 1 p.m. on Monday, December 9, burglars broke into Zhongyi Luo's rental car parked at the Rustic Inn in Dania Beach. Luo noticed her computer and all her luggage were missing just a few hours before her flight back home.

Surveillance cameras captured the burglars as they arrived in an older model, light-colored, four-door sedan.

The men parked their car next to the victim's Dodge Grand Caravan. One of the men got out of the passenger's side and peered into the victim's car. He then used his shirt as a glove to avoid leaving prints on the door handle, opened the door, quickly grabbed the victim's luggage and tossed it back into his car.

The thieves took three backpacks, a camera, a laptop computer, clothing, and approximately $600 cash.

BSO detectives believe these men are involved in five similar burglaries at the Rustic Inn since November 2013.
