The former purchasing director for the city of Hialeah hid a glass pipe in his rectum shortly before his December arrest on drug charges, according to a Fort Lauderdale police report.
Carlos Lopez, 45, was arrested Dec. 29 after a traffic stop in Fort Lauderdale.
According to the report, Lopez's face appeared flush, his pupils were dilated and his speech was slurred. The report also noted that Lopez's jeans were unbuttoned.
The report said methamphetamine was found in a bag underneath the driver's seat.
As Lopez was being escorted to the patrol car, the officer noticed that he was "walking awkwardly and clenching his buttocks," the report stated.
Police said Lopez admitted to sticking a methamphetamine pipe up his buttocks while he was being pulled over. He was taken to a hospital to have the pipe removed.
