Lifeguard at Wyndham Palm-Aire pulls boy out of pool

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. ā€“ A 4-year-old boy was taken to the hospital after nearly drowning in a swimming pool at a South Florida resort.

The boy was found Friday afternoon at the bottom of the pool at the Wyndham Palm-Aire in Pompano Beach.

A hotel lifeguard pulled him out of the pool and performed CPR, city spokeswoman Sandra King said.

The boy was in respiratory arrest when paramedics arrived, but they were able to regain a pulse, King said.

He was taken to Holy Cross Hospital. King said he was breathing and crying when he arrived at the hospital.

Earlier in the day, a 2-year-old boy was pulled from a pool at a Coral Springs home.
