Children of missing woman to remain with father pending home study

Trukita Scott's fiance granted custody during shelter hearing Thursday

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A Broward County judge ruled Thursday that the two children of a missing woman from Fort Lauderdale will remain in the custody of one of the child's fathers pending a home study.

Al Livingston is also the fiance of Trukita Scott, who has been missing for more than a week.

Department of Children and Family officials removed the children from Livingston's home Wednesday because he has a criminal history. The kids have been in the custody of Scott's mother, but both sides agreed Thursday that they should be back with Livingston.

The man told Local 10's Tamika Bickham that he is happy and relieved by the judge's decision.

Police believe Scott may be in danger, and could be with her ex-boyfriend Carl Watts.

Watts has a long history history with police, but he is not considered a suspect in Scott's disappearance at this time.

Scott was reported missing June 25 after she failed to pick up her two kids from day care.
