Coral Springs police seek man who robbed jogger

Police say man put woman in choke hold, took MP3 player

Video captured the suspect running towards the victim and then running away from the scene.

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Police are searching for a man who approached a jogger and stole her MP3 player.

The incident happened at 3:40 a.m. Friday, June 7 along Northwest 28th Street around the 9800 block.

Coral Springs police said the woman was jogging westbound along Northwest 28th Street when a man, wearing a gray hoodie and shorts, approached her from behind and put her in a choke hold.

Authorities said the woman blacked out and fell to the ground, hitting her face. When she became conscious, police said the man removed her MP3 player and was asking for her cell phone, which she did not have.

The suspect told the woman, "I'm sorry, I just really need the money." Police said he then ran off east towards Coral Hills Drive.
