A couple living in Kendall found an uninvited guest in their backyard pool Monday.
Maria and Ralph Gonzalez spotted the 18-inch alligator swimming behind their home in the 13300 block of Southwest 46th Lane.
"My husband was like, 'You will never guess what is in our pool. It's an alligator,'" said Gonzalez.
They then called the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, which had the gator trapped.
"It makes you wonder where is the mother," added Gonzalez. "I hope it doesn't come back because it will be much bigger."
In May, Ben Kennedy reported on an eight-foot alligator that wandered onto the porch of a home in Parkland.
