WESTON, Fla. – A kitten was rescued after getting stuck in the engine compartment of a white Mercedes.
The incident happened Monday in the 1200 block of Fairlake Boulevard in Weston.
The driver of the Mercedes told deputies she thought the kitten was in there for three hours Monday and called the Broward Sheriff's Office.
Rescue crews worked for about 30 minutes to coax the kitten out. Deputies said the kitten was initially holed up in a void on the driver's side between the fender and wheel well.
Firefighters tried several approaches to no avail and lastly used a fire extinguisher with some pressure to try and prod the kitten out.
The water made the kitten wriggle to the passenger's side of the Mercedes between the manifold and wheel well, where driver and engineer Albert Seidenstucker was able to access the kitten and gently remove it, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.
