The advocates want to build an 80-foot-tall complex devoted to the Cuban experience.

Already, the plan is facing push-back from the Miami Heat and some elected officials.
The Cuban Exile History Museum would sit on three acres of county land first promised to voters as a park and soccer field. That land now serves as a truck and equipment depot during big arena events.
Some officials believe putting a large building on a waterfront spot would cause too many disruptions.
Museum advocates say the land is the perfect spot to highlight the stories of Cuban immigrants and their role in Miami's history.
