Disney celebrates 50th anniversary of Small World attraction
Disney is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its small world attraction.
The classic boat tour with its colorfully costumed cast of singing dolls turned 50 this year along with that catchy tune in multiple languages!
To mark the big day, guests and cast members at all five Disney Resorts—Disneyland Resort in Southern California, Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida, Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disney Resort and Hong Kong Disneyland will unite for a global sing-along of the famous theme song.
The sing-along will be broadcast on "Good Morning America" on Thursday.
Fans can also join in on the celebration online.
They are visiting the website and recording videos of themselves singing “It’s A Small World” or creating digital dolls and sharing them on social media channels.
So far, visitors from more than 150 nations have visited the site.
Disney is donating $150,000 to benefit UNICEF as part of the celebration, plus a $1 for every video or doll created, up to $100,000.
Fans can continue to participate through May 30.
