Fast Lane Friday held to combat illegal street racing

HOMESTEAD, Fla. – To combat illegal street racing in South Florida, advocacy groups have come together to make a safe environment for racers.

Fast Lane Friday is held the first Friday of every month and gives enthusiasts a chance to legally drag race.

The Homestead-Miami Speedway hosts the event in which anyone who is 18 and older can drive any street-legal car or truck with a valid driver's license.

Drivers can race as many times as they'd like from 6 p.m. to midnight for only $20. Paramedics are on standby throughout the entire event and spectators can pay $10 to watch.
