Search continues for driver of Ferrari involved in hit-and-run

FHP: Radomin Deglado owns 2009 Ferrari F430 Scuderia involved in crash

DORAL, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol continued to look for the driver of a Ferrari involved in a fatal hit-and-run on Saturday despite identifying Radomin Deglado as the registered owner of sports car.

The driver of Deglado's red 2009 Ferrari F430 Scuderia rear ended a Hyundai on Saturday on Interstate 75 just north of Northwest 138th, causing it to hit a third vehicle. Paramedics pronounced Jorge Arrojas, the driver of the Hyundai, dead when they arrived. Two others were injured.

"This is a total disrespect of human values," said Miguel Larrieu, Arrojas' partner who was injured in the crash. "You have to respect life. Not only other people's lives but your own."

The driver of the Ferrari then took off. FHP later found the car and impounded it.

"The owner of the car is the owner of the car. We don't know if the owner was driving at this time," said Florida Highway Patrol trooper Joe Sanchez. "We are in the process of conducting DNA testing on the vehicle. We are going to process the vehicle and gather as much evidence as we can."

An attorney representing Delgado (pictured below right) has contacted FHP since the crash. Delgado didn't return Local 10's calls for comment Monday.

According to the National Auto Sport Association, Delgado raced the Ferrari at Homestead-Miami Speedway in March 2012.

Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call FHP at 305-470-2500.
