Monroe County Sheriff's Office detectives said Berry and Pothier stole three guns from an out-of-town resident in Key Largo, as well as a Ford F-150 pickup truck. The truck was later found destroyed in a fire in Florida City.

Detectives said the men tried to sell the guns to a man in Tavernier that same afternoon, but after he refused to buy them, they burglarized his home, stealing a 12-gauge shotgun and laptop computer.

Investigators identified Berry as a suspect, and he was taken into custody at a home in Homestead.

Detectives said Berry identified Pothier as his accomplice in the crimes.

Gilliland was identified as a third suspect. Detectives said he fled from authorities after a brief chase but was later apprehended. Detectives said they found the stolen guns at his Islamorada home.

Berry was being held at a Miami-Dade County jail on charges of armed burglary, grand theft and dealing in stolen property.
