WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -

The man who invented the popular MagicJack device has died in Florida. He was 52.

MagicJack Vocaltec Ltd. says in a statement that Dan Borislow died Monday. Borislow's friend says he died after suffering a heart attack after playing in a soccer game in West Palm Beach.

MagicJack pioneered phone calls over the Internet, advertised as a means of "eliminating your monthly phone bill forever." The device became available in thousands of stores.

More than 10 million have been sold.

Borislow was also well known for his ties to horse racing and women's professional soccer.
