Fort Lauderdale teen faces 20 counts of child porn charges

Alexander Miller, 18, admits being attracted to kids, arrest report says

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – An 18-year-old Fort Lauderdale man faces 20 counts of child pornography charges.

Alexander Miller made his initial court appearance Friday morning.

According to the arrest report, a detective with the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force posed online as someone interested in sharing child porn.

Authorities tracked Miller's computer to his mother's apartment in Fort Lauderdale.

The report said Miller, who has no previous criminal record, admitted to being attracted to children and enjoyed watching them have sex.

Miller's mother begged the judge to waive his bond and instead place him on house arrest.

"I'm his mother," the tearful woman said. "He's never been in trouble before. He's really a good kid. He's only 18 and I'd just like to ask if there's any way we could -- I don't have money -- if we could in lieu of bond do the ankle bracelet."

The judge set Miller's bond at $200,000 and ordered him to wear an ankle-monitoring device upon his release. Miller won't be allowed to leave his home or have any contact with minors.
