WASILLA, Alaska – You can't feel bad when intruders break into your home and then leave a nice thank you note.
That's what happened last weekend after a couple broke into the Wasilla, Alaska cabin of Pat Showers.

But instead of ransacking the home and leaving under the cover of darkness, the intruders left money and a thank you note.
The note, written on a paper plate, reads, "Dear Friends, We had an accident on the river. We were wet, cold, low on gear and thought it too risky to spend the night in woods on a rainy night. So sorry for the entry but your cabin was a life saver. We ate two packs of noodles and had some water. Again, very sorry for the intrusion. Many thanks. --Two (too) desperate"
In his own letter sent to KTUU-TV in Anchorage, Showers shared the story of what had happened, "I have a cabin up the Kashwitna River and on my last visit (last weekend) I found the place had been entered. I don't know who it was, but maybe you can send out a thank you for how they left the place. I'm attaching the note they left. To me, this is what Alaska is all about! People helping people in times of need. Sure beats the vandalism we too often see."
Now if only all home invasions were so civil.
