Green Friday: Pot sellers cash in on holiday sales

Give the gift of ganj with cheap strains, handwritten gift certificates

Colorado's pot dispensaries are trying to get a piece of the holiday shopping pie.

Medical marijuana shops have been offering holiday deals to customers for years, but this year is different now that marijuana is legal there for all adults.

At the Grass Station in Denver, you can get an ounce of marijuana for $50 — about a fifth of the cost of the next-cheapest strain at the Colorado dispensary — if you're among the first 16 customers in line Friday, Saturday and Sunday, The Associated Press reported.

Another dispensary plans to take out a full-page "Happy Danksgiving" ad in the Denver Post. Customers can text a code for extra savings.

Some shops are aiming for high-end marijuana customers with top-shelf strains of potent pot for the holiday season.

Want to give the gift of ganj but don't know what to get? Most dispensaries now offer handwritten gift certificates.
