Gun-wielding masked man goes on robbery spree in Boca Raton

Man believed to be involved in at least 3 robberies in area

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Police are searching for a gun-wielding man who is believed to have robbed a BP gas station and Walgreens store in Boca Raton this week.

The first robbery was reported at about 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at a BP gas station at 5440 W. Glades Road.

Surveillance video shows a man, who was wearing a black jacket, a white or tan mask and a hat, enter the store.

Police said the man pulled out a silver handgun and demanded money from the cash registers. Police said an employee put the money in a plastic shopping bag.

Just 15 minutes later, another robbery was reported at a Walgreens at 1851 Clint Moore Road.

Police said the robber was dressed similarly to the person who robbed the BP gas station. In the second robbery, the man also brandished a silver handgun and demanded an employee give him money from one of the cash registers.

Police said the robber had the employee dump the money in a trash can.

An employee told detectives that he believes the same man robbed the Walgreens on July 11.

No one was injured in any of the robberies.
