FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. ā A man is in critical condition after police say he was struck by a car early Thursday morning in Fort Lauderdale.
Fort Lauderdale police said the incident happened at 12:27 a.m. Thursday on the 600 block of West Broward Boulevard.
According to investigators, 53-year-old Daniel Francis Driscoll, was trying to cross West Broward Boulevard when he was struck by the driver's side view mirror.
Police said Driscoll was not at a crosswalk.
Driscoll was hit by a 1996-2000 model 4-door green Honda Civic that was traveling westbound. The driver then left the scene.
Driscoll has life-threatening injuries and was taken to Broward Health Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition.
