Police said a homicide detective tracked Cabrera to the complex.

"I commend Detective Sparkman and the Hollywood Police Homicide Unit for a job well done," said Hollywood Chief of Police Frank Fernandez. "Together with the Davie Police Department, we removed a dangerous individual from our streets. I thank the Davie Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division and SRT for assisting us in this case."

Stacy Goff, 18, who was also named a suspect in the case by police was arrested in October.

According to an arrest affidavit, Goff told police she was dating Cabrera and Rivera simultaneously. Police say text messages between Goff and Rivera show they lured him to an alley a 2112 N. Dixie Highway, where he was shot and killed.
