Joe's Stone Crab celebrates 100th anniversary

Miami Beach restaurant reopening Oct 15

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Joe's Stone Crab will reopen Tuesday, October 15, for its 100 year anniversary.

"Everyone has been asking us what we are doing for our 100th," said CEO Stephen Sawitz. "But when you think about it, every day at Joe's is special and every time we open the doors it's a celebration. So in that sense, the best way for us to mark our 100th is to do exactly the same thing that got us here: serve great food and provide great service."

The restaurant is adding prime cuts of certified angus beef to the menu.

"Nobody panic," added Sawitz. "We're not changing our name to Joe's Steak House… at least not for the next 100 years. This is just something new and delicious that happens to go perfectly with our signature stone crabs."
