A man used his cat to attack his live-in girlfriend.

DAVIE, Fla. -

A man used his cat to attack his live-in girlfriend, according to court records.

Police arrested 41-year-old Kenneth Stuart on Thursday. According to Broward Circuit Judge John Hurley, Stuart got into a fight with his girlfriend, then used their cat as a weapon.

"She said you were yelling at her, 'Look, it's going to die, it's got no air,' and at that point, she said that you threw a cat in her face," said Hurley as he read from the arrest report during Stuart's first court appearance Monday morning.

The cat scratched the left side of her face near her eye, said Hurley.

"When police got there, you said, 'Just take me to f'ing jail. I'm tired of this,'" said Hurley.

Stuart told Hurley he's unemployed and unable to work because of several herniated discs in his back.

"That's very interesting. I read the facts this case. I didn't realize you had such a bad back," said Hurley. "They say you broke the TV, the computer, the kitchen window, and then during it, you pushed her, knocked the TV and the computer to the ground."

The front window at Stuart's unit was broken Monday, but no one answered the door.

Police charged Stuart with battery, tormenting an animal, and resisting an officer without violence. He was jailed on $16,000 bond.

"That's based on the level of violence. The court's concerned for the safety of Ms. Grimm and the cat," said Hurley.

Stuart was previously arrested for battery two other times.
