Library advocates holds Celebration of Libraries event

Organizers to spread library advocacy in light of pending budget cuts to Miami-Dade Public Libraries

MIAMI – Library advocates say they are holding an event on Saturday to spread awareness to the community called "A Celebration of Libraries."

Organizers of the fundraiser event said they will spread library advocacy in light of pending budget cuts to Miami-Dade Public Libraries.

Those that attend will also be able to watch the film "Fahrenheit 451," organizers said.

Guest speakers of the night will include Dr. Caren Neile, Director South Florida Storytelling Project; Carrie Sue Ayvar, award-winning Storyteller; Melinda Munger, former MDPLS librarian and storyteller; Walter Wally, Children's author and irreverent rhymer; and other special guests.
