MIAMI -

Jungle Island has two new residents.

Two liger cubs were born earlier this week at the property on Watson Island.

A liger is a hybrid of a royal white Bengal tiger and an African white lion.

The male and female are cute and cuddly now, but they can weigh up to 900 pounds and reach 12-feet when standing on their hind legs.

The cubs are currently getting critical medical attention before being debuted to the public.

“As soon as the ligers are given a clean bill of health, we will invite the public to see them,” said Dr. Jason Chatfield, vice president of zoological operations.
