SOIR: His work deals with issues of class, race, and culture

MIAMI – The Pérez Art Museum Miami will be featuring a local Haitian artist's works beginning Thursday.

Adler Guerrier, born in Port-au-Prince, is a New World School of the Arts grad. He works out of Downtown Art House studio, 100 NE 11th St.

"Generally, his work deals with issues of class, race, and culture," Jacqueline Rios, of SOIR magazine said.  "He uses his knowledge of various mediums with a conceptual format to create a conversation."

Guerrier's work is part of the Museum of Contemporary Art collection in North Miami. The David Castillo Gallery, 420 Lincoln Road, represents the Haitian artist.

Guerrier's show titled Formulating a Plot will include sculpture, photography and collage works on paper. The exhibit will be up from August 7 to January 25 at PAMM, 1103 Biscayne Blvd., in downtown Miami.
