New Miami-Dade Police Director part of family working in law enforcement

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Miami-Dade County’s new police director Stephanie Daniels, her husband and two of their sons make up two generations of law enforcement.

Between them, they have nearly a century of law enforcement experience.

That’s 100 years of wearing the uniform to serve and protect.

Stephanie Daniels has spent more than three decades in Miami-Dade and is now the county’s new top cop.

Her sons, Desi Daniels Jr. and Deandre Daniels, followed in their father’s footsteps and are working in the county’s corrections department.

Desi Daniels Sr. has been there for 35 years.

Desi Jr. is now a lieutenant after 16 years with the department of corrections.

His brother and father are both captains.

Law enforcement is a family affair for the Daniels’ and at home, so was laying down the law.

The family intends to continue their work in law enforcement, with no talk of retirement among anyone, just more walking the walk and talking the talk.
