Police search for 2 ‘persons of interest’ following fatal Lauderhill shooting

LAUDERHILL, Fla. – Police are searching for two men who they are calling “persons of interest” in a deadly shooting that occurred last month in Lauderhill.

According to investigators, the Lauderhill Police Department received a call for service around 3:35 a.m. Feb. 7 in a parking lot located in the 4500 block of North University Drive.

Police said officers arrived at the scene and found 34-year-old Christopher Matthew Fletcher, who had been shot multiple times, lying on the ground unresponsive.

Authorities said Fletcher was transported to Broward Health Medical Center, where he died.

Police said they received a call shortly after about a Black man who had arrived at Florida Medical Center with a non-life-threatening gunshot injury.

A motive for the shooting has not been released at this time.

Anyone with information about the double shooting is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.

Tipsters can receive a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
