HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Police announced the arrest of a suspected “bank jugger” in Hollywood on Wednesday.
On March 26, officers from the Hollywood Police Department said they were conducting surveillance on the west side of the city, specifically targeting bank jugging activities.

According to investigators, Bank jugging is when criminals target people who withdraw cash from banks or ATMs. These criminals are known to focus on individuals who leave with bank envelopes or bags, then follow them to steal the money.
Authorities said while conducting surveillance in the area, officers noticed a white vehicle occupied for an extended duration in a bank parking lot. The occupant of the vehicle appeared to be closely monitoring the movements of bank customers entering and exiting the premises.
Subsequently, police said responding officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle as it left the bank, citing several criminal and traffic infractions.
The driver, who police identified as Kendrick Jones, was apprehended and taken into custody.
An inventory search of the vehicle yielded multiple items consistent with bank jugging activity, including a black ski mask, gloves and a glass window punch.
Hollywood police detectives say they are actively pursuing undercover operations and surveillance in the vicinity of banks within the city.
Recently, detectives said they have identified another vehicle suspected to be involved in the crime.
The vehicle, described as a dark gray 2016-2020 Mercedes GLA 200, has evaded officers attempting to initiate a traffic stop, according to police.
Jones’ charges have not yet been released by authorities and his bond information remains unknown at this time.
