SUNRISE, Fla. – A 43-year-old Sunrise man teamed up with his son to attack a high school classmate with whom he had been in “several” altercations, according to police.

Authorities said Elvis Buck’s son used his fists against the teen, while Buck himself went further and wielded a machete.

That earned him a felony charge following his arrest Thursday, police said.

According to an arrest report from the Sunrise Police Department, the incident happened Tuesday afternoon at a home on Northwest 105th Lane.

Police said Buck and his son, driving separate vehicles, showed up at the victim’s home. Authorities said Buck parked in the driveway and his son parked on the street.

The report states that Buck’s son and the victim, who is under 18, have an “apprehensive and tense relationship” and have been in multiple fights.

Buck had “attempted to encourage physical altercations” between the two in the past, but the victim was never home, it states.

That apparently changed Tuesday, when Buck and his son began yelling “you p----” at the teenager and tried to “actively encourage the minor victim to a physical altercation,” police wrote in the report.

Police said after the victim asked Buck to leave, he went to his car and got the machete.

The report states that when the victim tried to close the door of Buck’s car onto his hand to keep him from getting the machete, Buck’s son began punching him in the face.

Police said eventually the victim was crouched over Buck’s son when Buck took the machete and raised it over his head to strike the teen.

The report states the victim grabbed the blade and sustained a cut on his left palm and thumb.

The victim, “terrified” and profusely bleeding, was able to run into the home and called police, it states.

Buck and his son drove up and down the street, leaving before officers arrived, police said.

Sunrise police took Buck into custody on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon Thursday.

Buck has a criminal past in Broward County; court records show he pleaded no contest in 2012 to escape, resisting arrest without violence and a charge of making a prostitution appointment.

That same year, he also pleaded no contest to a charge of possession of cannabis with intent to sell.

Buck had not yet left the Broward Main Jail as of Friday; he remained held on a $10,000 bond, according to jail records.
