MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A man from Miami-Dade County was arrested Wednesday after he harassed his ex-girlfriend and vandalized her vehicle, authorities said.

According to his arrest report, Richie Harry Silvestre, 35, and the victim were involved in an on/off relationship for about a year and a half, but the relationship ended over a year ago.

Miami-Dade police said Silvestre got upset after learning that his ex-girlfriend was in a new relationship so he began to harass her via text messages from several different phone numbers.

Police said Silvestre also sent sexually explicit photos of the victim to her friends and relatives on social media, and then went to her workplace April 26 and spray-painted the word “puta” (a Spanish expletive, meaning “whore”) on every side of her vehicle.

The vandalism caused over $2,000 in damages to the vehicle, authorities said.

According to his arrest report, Silvestre provided a confession to detectives Wednesday, however his exact statement was redacted from the publicly released report.

Silvestre was arrested on charges of criminal mischief, making threatening or harassing phone calls and sexual cyber harassment.

As of Thursday afternoon, Silvestre was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in lieu of a $3,250 bond.
