Main kitchen at Boca Raton Hotel ordered shut

Records show State Inspectors ordered the main kitchen at the Boca Raton Hotel shut because of a roach issue.
A total of 7 violations were found.

A Checker's restaurant in Fort Lauderdale was also ordered shut due to a roach issue.
Below is a list of places and some of their violations.
All the restaurants were allowed to re-open following an ordered clean up and re-inspection.
400 EAST SUNRISE BLVD
"Roach activity present as evidenced by live roaches found.12 live roaches behind plastic wall panels between entrance door and take out window. 3 live roaches inside clean plastic dishes next to entrance door at ice cream equipment.2 live roaches behind ice cream machine.m4 live roaches on the floor behind and underneath ice cream machine. Potentially hazardous (time/temperature control for safety) hot held at less than 135 degrees Fahrenheit or above. Chicken and wings 102° F, hamburger Patties 97 degrees. Accumulation of black/green mold-like substance in the interior of the ice machine. Live flies in kitchen. Wall soiled with accumulated black debris in dishwashing area. Build-up of mold-like substance on nonfood-contact surface. On top of cove moldings. Behind hand wash sinks. Along walls at take out windows. Certified Food Manager or person in charge lacks knowledge of employee health policy and health requirements. Certified Food Manager or person in charge lacks knowledge of food borne illnesses and symptoms of illness that would prevent an employee from working with food, clean equipment and utensils, and single-service items. Certified Food Manager or person in charge lacks knowledge of reporting responsibilities for exclusions and restrictions."

Roach excrement and/or droppings present. On some walls in the kitchen. Certified Food Manager or person in charge lacks knowledge of food borne illnesses and symptoms of illness that would prevent an employee from working with food, clean equipment and utensils, and single-service items."

"Roach activity present as evidenced by 20 live roaches found kitchen on walls, inside an oven and floors. Roach excrement and/or droppings present. Walls. Dead roaches on premises. Kitchen. Employee with no hair restraint while engaging in food preparation. Clean glasses, cups, bowls, plates, pots and pans not stored inverted or in a protected manner."
