Man arrested for shooting in Anderson Park

Albert Espinal, 22, charged in shooting

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Police located an arrested a man on Dec. 5 for shooting a man in Dec. 3 in Anderson Park.

Albert Anthony Espinal, 22, was identified and apprehended as the person responsible for shooting 22-year-old Michael Flores.

Police say the two were involved in an altercation in Anderson Park when Espinal intentionally struck Flores in the left cheek with the firearm, causing it to discharge and hit Flores in the left shoulder.

Police say Espinal provided a statement to detectives admitting to the shooting and told them after the gun went off, he rode his bike away from the park, wrapped the gun in his sweatshirt and dumped it in a recycle bin.

Flores is currently in stable condition.

Espinal is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. His bond is set at $50,000.
