Man arrested in connection with shooting, robbery in Hialeah

Police: Peter Wilkinson, 3 others shot man in attempt to steal gold chain

HIALEAH – Police have arrested one of four men wanted in connection of a shooting and robbery in Hialeah.

Police said Peter Wilkinson, 24, and three other men shot a 36-year-old man in an attempt to steal his gold chain.

The attempted armed robbery happened about 4:10 p.m. Saturday at 4336 East 10th Court.

Police said the man was walking outside a business he works at when the four men pulled up in an SUV. One of the men stepped out of the SUV and attempted to steal a gold chain off the victim's neck.

A struggle ensued, which led to shots being fired. Police said the victim was struck once in the stomach.

The man was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in serious but stable condition. It is unclear at this time whether he has been released from the hospital.
