Alligator attacks man during demonstration

Will Nace attacked at The Native Village

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A worker at Florida Gator Park was doing a "lunge alligator" demonstration for spectators at The Native Village on Saturday when he was attacked by the alligator used for the demonstration.

Approximately 20 people were gathered around watching when Will Nace got in front of the 13 foot, 900 pound alligator and tapped it on the nose.

Serge Achille was walking past as it happened. "I've never seen anything like it in my life. When I walked by all I could see was Will being dragged under the water screaming at the top of his lungs until you couldn't see him anymore," Achille said.

Another animal handler was able to jump in quickly to save Nace when the accident happened.

Nace was taken to Memorial Regional and underwent surgery immediately. He is currently recovering in the hospital.
