Man charged, accused of fatally shooting woman with baby in car

Jalil Allen charged with murder-premeditated, 2 counts of aggravated assault with firearm

LAUDERHILL, Fla. – Detectives have arrested a 26-year-old man accused of fatally shooting a 19-year-old woman while she was on her way to pick up her 11-month-old son.

Lauderhill police said Jalil Allen was arrested around 4:30 a.m. Sunday for the murder of Nicole Grier.

According to eyewitnesses, Grier was ambushed and shot at least six times at very close range. She was outside the home where she goes every day to pick up her 11-month-old baby.

Witnesses say Grier had just placed her son, Jacari, in the back seat of her car. That's when two cars pulled up.

Satricia Jordan said she had just finished helping Grier put the baby in the car when she saw a man stand up through the sunroof of one of the cars and start shooting. She said Grier was asking them to stop, but they just kept shooting.

Grier's family and friends raised money last week for her funeral and to raise awareness to find those responsible for her murder.

Allen was charged with one count of murder-premeditated and two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm.
