Miami-Dade police arrested a 36-year-old man accused telling a bartender at Miami International Airport that there may be a bomb inside of his bag.
Police arrested James Bahamonde, of Miami Beach, Tuesday. He was charged with planting of a hoax bomb.
Bahamonde was at the Delta Sky Club Bar and asked the bartender where the restroom was, according to an arrest affidavit. After she told him where to go, he told her she was responsible for his bag and that there might be a bomb inside of it.
When officers arrived and took him into custody, Bahamonde stated: "I was just kidding."
Police evacuated Terminals H-J while they investigated the bag. People were allowed back inside about 30 minutes later after examining the bag and finding no explosive device inside it.
