Man hurt after being trapped under truck at FLL

Officials say 44-year-old man left truck in gear

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. ā€“ A 44-year-old man was taken to the hospital after he was trapped under his truck at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

The incident happened Tuesday at 100 Aviation Boulevard on the south side of the airport.

Authorities said David Timpe got out of his pickup truck but because he had left it in gear, the truck started to roll forward.

Timpe ran in front of the truck to try and stop it, but officials said the pickup wedged him against a backhoe.

Deputies said Timpe suffered a leg and back injury. He was taken to Broward Health.
