Man shot in attempt to steal gold chain, Hialeah police say

Police seek 4 men in attempted armed robbery

HIALEAH, Fla. – Four men who shot a 36-year-old man in an attempt to steal his gold chain are currently being sought, according to Hialeah police.

The attempted armed robbery happened around 4:10 p.m. Saturday at 4336 East 10th Court.

Police said the man was walking outside a business he works at when the four men pulled up in an SUV. One of the men stepped out of the SUV and attempted to steal a gold chain off the victim's neck.

A struggle ensued, which led to shots being fired. Police said the victim was struck once in the stomach.

The man was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in serious but stable condition, authorities said.

Hialeah police said the four men, described as black, fled in the dark SUV without the victim's chain.

Anyone who may have witnessed or knows anything about the incident is asked to call police.
