MIAMI – Police are searching for a man who snatched a woman's purse from her car while she was dropping off her child at a day care in Miami.
The theft was reported about 7:45 a.m. Friday outside Ebenezer Day Care at 4111 SW Fourth St.
According to police, a silver four-door car, possibly a Dodge Dart, parked next to her vehicle.
After she entered the building, surveillance video shows a man getting out of the Dodge, opening the passenger side door of the victim's vehicle and snatching her purse.
The thief fled the scene, heading west on Southwest Fourth Street.
The thief is described as a black man with dreadlocks who is about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
