Man who fatally shot someone playing dominoes arrested, deputies say

Tryell Cobbin found hiding at friend's house in Opa-locka

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A Fort Lauderdale man was arrested Friday afternoon in connection with a fatal shooting that happened Wednesday night while the victim was playing dominoes with friends.

Broward Sheriff's Office deputies said Tryell Cobbin, 24, was hiding at a friend's house in Opa-locka about 4 p.m. Friday when he was arrested.

Cobbin was arrested on a first-degree murder charge in the fatal shooting of Roderick Simmons, 30.

The shooting happened just before 11 p.m. Wednesday as Simmons played dominoes with friends in front of his house, deputies said.

Deputies said Simmons and another man were shot.

Bonnie Lockhart, 30, was treated for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
