Funkhouser was asked to leave, but instead he sat down, went through the owner's belongings and then went to sleep on the boat, Herrin said.

The owner went to a neighboring boat and asked to call 911.

When deputies arrived, Funkhouser was asleep on the couch with a gift bag on his head, Herrin said. Deputies had difficulty waking him up, but they eventually did and escorted him off the boat.

Funkhouser faces charges of burglary of an occupied dwelling and criminal mischief.
