Metro PCS store robber strikes twice

Detectives try to ID man from surveillance video of robberies

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. ā€“ The Broward Sheriff's Office released surveillance video of an armed robber targeting the same Metro PCS store in Pompano Beach twice -- the night before Valentine's Day and on Christmas Day.

The store is located at 317 E. Copans Road.

Just before noon on Christmas Day, the video shows the man looking at merchandise for about a minute before displaying a handgun. He demanded cash from the store's sales manager. As he walked out, detectives said he told her to "call the cops."

Then just before 6 p.m. Feb. 13, BSO stated that the video shows what they suspect is the same man storming in. This time, he doesn't pretend to shop but instead pulls a silver handgun from his aqua blue shorts within seconds of entering the store. He points it at the employee's head while demanding cash.

Two customers were in the store at the time. No one was hurt.

There was also an armed robbery at that same Metro PCS store last year.

BSO is looking for information that could help them track down the man seen in the video before he strikes again.

Anyone who recognizes the man from either robbery is asked to call detectives or Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
