Police said they found Shaina McBride, 14, at a Fort Lauderdale Beach hotel. She has been missing since Friday morning.

A missing Fort Lauderdale teenager was found safe Wednesday after running away from home, police said.

Shaina McBride, 14, had been missing since Friday morning.

Fort Lauderdale police said McBride ran away from home and was staying at a hotel on the beach.

Her father learned the news while speaking with Local 10 News. He said she was at the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.

"There's got to be a mixed bag there. There had to be something that got her where she was," said David McBride, Shaina's father. "I mean, it's not like she ran away and had a pocket full of money and went to a hotel room. Something and someone had to be involved here."

Police said they have no one in custody and are still investigating to determine the circumstances that led to her running away.

For now, Shaina's father said he is happy to just have his daughter back home.

"Thank God she is alive, I don't know the particulars and at this point, I don't really care, you know what I mean?" said David McBride.  "I just know my daughter is alive and she's okay and she's there (police headquarters). Believe me, as soon as I finish this quick interview here I'm in the car going to the police department."

The FBI is assisting the Fort Lauderdale Police Department in the investigation.
