Mother, daughter found dead inside North Miami condo

Deaths investigated as double suicide

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. – A mother and a daughter were found dead inside their North Miami condominium Monday, in what appears to be a double suicide, detectives said.

The victims have been identified as Tania Suarez Galindo, 49, and Elisa Galindo, 72.

Their bodies were found inside their home at Bayview Towers at 2100 San Souci Blvd.

Police said Tuesday that the investigation is being handled as a double suicide.

According to police, evidence at the scene made the deaths appear to be the result of self-inflicted gunshot wounds.

The women's neighbor, Natalie Garson, told Local 10 News that the building is typically quiet, with mostly retirees living there.

"It's very, very shocking to me because I can't imagine anything like that, that could happen between a mother and daughter situation," said Garson. "It's very, very shocking. I feel there's other ways of resolving family issues than taking your life or your mother's life."

Garson said the father of one of the women also lives inside the condo unit.
