Nuisance alligators are described by FWC as alligators at least four feet in length that are believed to pose a threat to people, pets or property. Alligators smaller than that size are not large enough to be dangerous unless handled.Ā

SNAP trappers will be dispatched to remove alligators and relocate them to other areas. In 2013, SNAP received 14,915 nuisance alligator complaints -- resulting in the removal of 8,053 nuisance alligators.

More than a million alligators live across Florida's 67 counties.Ā
