Police look for Broward grocery store thief

Thief stole from distracted shoppers in Weston

WESTON, Fla. – Two women at a Publix at 294 Indian Trace in Weston were robbed as they were turned away from their carts.

The suspect wandered through the aisles with a cart on Aug. 14, just after 2:20 p.m., in glasses and a purple and pink, sleeveless, floral top and dark pants.

According to reports, the suspect pretended to look at items, but moved close to another shopper's cart, reached into the woman's purse and stole her wallet while she was distracted, looking at groceries.

The suspect then quickly left the aisle. By the time the woman realized her belongings were gone, the suspect had fled the store in a small, dark grey car that was waiting outside.
