Police look to speak to missing woman's ex-boyfriend

Tanya Gonzalez, 28, last seen Sept. 9

MIAMI – Police are searching for a woman who was last seen Sept. 9 shopping in Midtown.

"She was very happy, outgoing, she worked eight to 10 hours to maintain herself to pay her car," said Ramon Gonzalez, the father of the missing woman.

Surveillance cameras captured Tanya Gonzalez, 28, in the lobby of her building the night she disappeared. She's been missing for almost a week and with each passing day her family members said they fear the worst.

Tanya Gonzalez and her ex-boyfriend, Roy Blanco, were together for several years but broke things off a few months ago. Family members said he is a jealous, controlling man, who they believe may have had a hand in her disappearance.

"Her ex-boyfriend disappeared the same time frame," Ramon Gonzalez said. "(His) mom and dog disappeared too. He's seen loading up a car with a suitcase from a neighbor across the street. What more circumstantial evidence is necessary?"

Family members of Tanya Gonzalez told police Blanco was last seen in the Keys, aboard a boat he chartered for the day.

"The boat was reported missing and stolen because the rental time had expired," Ramon Gonzalez said.

Police said that while there is no reason to suspect foul play, they are now looking to speak with Blanco.

Tanya Gonzalez is described as being 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighting 135 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. Police said she was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with any information on Gonzalez's whereabouts is asked to contact the Miami Police Department at 305-603-6300.
