MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -

A man was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition after police say he was shot outside a home in Miami Gardens.

The shooting happened after 4 p.m. Friday at a house in the 18000 block of Northwest 41st Court.

After arriving at the home, police said officers saw 58-year-old David Wade in the back yard lying on the ground, suffering from a gunshot injury.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews also responded to the scene.

Police said Wade was airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center in critical but stable condition.

It's unclear what led up to the shooting.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Miami Gardens Police Department at 305-474-6473 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 305-471-TIPS (8477). Police said if the tip leads to the arrest of those responsible for the shooting, the tipster may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
