2 suspects also taken into custody

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Police raided two suspected marijuana grow houses in Miami-Dade County on Tuesday.

Officers seized more than 100 pounds of pot from a home along Southwest 14th Lane and Southwest 122nd Avenue. Eighteen marijuana plants were discovered and a suspect was also taken into custody.

Earlier Tuesday, DEA agents and police removed as many as 100 marijuana plants from a house farther south, near Southwest 208th Avenue and Southwest 236th Street.

Local 10 was there as undercover detectives removed bags of marijuana from the home. The homeowner, Juan Felipe, was hauled away in handcuffs.

Police also removed weapons from the home. They said Felipe was properly licensed for those guns.

Both Felipe and the suspect behind the other grow house face drug trafficking charges.
